On the occasion of the 2023 edition of the Carrefour des Gestions Locales de l’Eau, held on January 25 and 26 in Rennes, Saur is reaffirming its commitment to regional water transition by positioning itself as the preferred partner of local authorities.

Saur strengthens its presence in Brittany and applies its know-how to the region’s specific challenges.

Saur gains new market share by winning two contracts in Saint-Brieuc (Côtes-d’Armor). The Saint-Brieuc community council has just awarded Saur the management of its drinking water and wastewater services, positioning it as the major player in this area, with 42,000 users served. This latest victory demonstrates the Group’s ability to respond to the specific challenges of each territory. Thanks to a tailor-made service, Saur guarantees the optimization of wastewater systems to protect the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, which is partly located in a protected nature reserve, and has to cope with high tourist numbers as well as significant fishing activity.

Innovation for energy optimization in the Paris Region

SPL Confluence Seine Essonne Energie has renewed its contract with Saur for the Evry and Corbeil Essonne wastewater treatment plants. As these two treatment plants are located in the same geographical area, Saur is preparing to pool their management. This new management method will optimize both water quality and energy recovery. This five-year contract includes the construction of a biogas treatment unit by Stereau, which will produce green energy and reduce the energy consumption of these facilities. Saur’s ambition is to make this shared management system a model of excellence that can be transposed throughout France.

Pierre Casteran, Deputy Regional Manager France OuestStating, “Thanks to our operational excellence and innovative capabilities, we are proud to have won two new contracts in Saint-Brieuc, establishing a long-term presence in the Brittany region. At the core of this collaboration is the preservation of resources and the protection of natural environments.”

Xavier Piccino, Deputy Regional Director for Eastern France, adds: “The model of shared management of wastewater treatment plants is an illustration of the know-how of Saur and its subsidiary Stereau in preserving resources, limiting water consumption and accelerating the transition to water and energy in the regions.
